Footprint Engineering is a Johannesburg-based company managed by Gary Pereira, who has twenty years managerial, project management and technical experience in the electrical and plumbing installation and certification industry. We undertake projects throughout South Africa and in neighboring countries.

Mindful of our responsibility to develop sustainable and green buildings, our company designs energy efficient electrical and plumbing installations for a variety of residential, commercial and industrial projects.

Applying engineering knowledge with practical experience, each project is approached with a focus on aesthetics, functionality and cost, and is completed by a small team of specialist technicians. Footprint Engineering provides a variety of electrical design and certification services. Our high quality professional design drawings, schematics, and calculations are supported by two decades of experience in the industry. We strive to ensure the integrity and safe operation of all our designed installations.

Green building certification
Our basis of Design (BOD) meets the requirements for two important green building certification systems – the Green Star (developed by the Green Building Council of South Africa) and the internationally recognised LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) .

Specific services
MV & LV electrical installations, including stand by, emergency and renewable supplies in strict accordance with SANS 10142 and SANS 204 Codes.

Plumbing / Wet services engineering

Footprint Engineering has a strong focus on the skilful integration of plumbing planning and designs into the building process. The importance of quality plumbing is greatly underestimated in the industry, and our company draws on two decades of experience to effect the best possible result for your building or project. Effective planning at the design stage ensures that future green solutions such as greywater recycling and renewable energy, are considered.

The process
Our carefully considered and comprehensive design documents ensure an effective and accurate tender process. All requisite information is supplied to the plumber, in accordance with all the mandatory industry standards.

Quality control
Footprint Engineering plumbing designs are supported by calculations that comply with SANS 10252, 10254, 10106 and 10400 standards. Designs are also ergonomic, and comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Footprint Engineering is authorised to issue a Plumbing Certificate of Compliance as required by local authorities and insurance companies.
